6300 Series Awning Windows

Awning windows are a type of window that is hinged at the top and opens at the bottom. While many modern buildings have double hung windows, you will still see awning type windows on industrial buildings, residential basements, enclosed porches and many older homes. Modern homes sometimes use them as upper story windows as the angled construction allows fresh air to enter while blocking wind or rain. They are also used above a door or below a double hung window.
